DESCRIPTION:Shark Week’s Paul de Gelder: Improvise\, Adapt\, & OvercomeThese three words—a mantra Paul learned in the Australian Army as a young Paratrooper—resonated with him the first time he heard them. Paul chased adventure wherever he could find it. But trouble hunted him down in the form of a 10-foot bull shark in 2009 while diving for the Navy. Paul lost 2 limbs and his career as a Navy bomb disposal diver was flung into jeopardy. \n\n\n\nPaul will guide us through the journey of embracing uncomfortable change as a catalyst for growth\, understanding the lessons learned from facing challenges and setbacks. Lessons drawn from his military experiences will highlight the significance of teamwork\, discipline\, and adaptability in thriving in high-risk environments. Paul will also offer personal insights from surviving the life-threatening shark attack and shed light on the psychological and physical challenges of recovery. He’ll exploring strategies for developing a resilient mindset\, including the power of positive-thinking and self-belief. Paul is joining EO Detroit for this event to inspire and motivate us to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and cultivate resilience in all areas of life. \n\n\n\nEO Detroit Members\, Accelerators and Strategic Alliance Partners are encouraged to invite a guest to join them.
