SUMMARY:Shark Week’s Paul de Gelder: Improvise\, Adapt\, & Overcome
DESCRIPTION:Shark Week’s Paul de Gelder: Improvise\, Adapt\, & OvercomeThese three words—a mantra Paul learned in the Australian Army as a young Paratrooper—resonated with him the first time he heard them. Paul chased adventure wherever he could find it. But trouble hunted him down in the form of a 10-foot bull shark in 2009 while diving for the Navy. Paul lost 2 limbs and his career as a Navy bomb disposal diver was flung into jeopardy. \n\n\n\nPaul will guide us through the journey of embracing uncomfortable change as a catalyst for growth\, understanding the lessons learned from facing challenges and setbacks. Lessons drawn from his military experiences will highlight the significance of teamwork\, discipline\, and adaptability in thriving in high-risk environments. Paul will also offer personal insights from surviving the life-threatening shark attack and shed light on the psychological and physical challenges of recovery. He’ll exploring strategies for developing a resilient mindset\, including the power of positive-thinking and self-belief. Paul is joining EO Detroit for this event to inspire and motivate us to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and cultivate resilience in all areas of life. \n\n\n\nEO Detroit Members\, Accelerators and Strategic Alliance Partners are encouraged to invite a guest to join them. Cocktails and a light strolling supper will be served.

SUMMARY:Gaby Natale - Pioneer
DESCRIPTION:In a surprising turn of events\, the originally scheduled speaker for the upcoming June 21st event in Detroit\, Speech Thomas\, will not be able to attend due to health reasons. However\, this setback has allowed for an exciting opportunity to arise – Gaby Natale will be joining us instead. Gaby Natale is a trailblazer in her own right\, having made history as the first Latina in the history of US television to win three back-to-back Daytime EMMYs and the first Latina to be published by HarperCollins Leadership. She will share her inspiring message on embracing your uniqueness\, breaking barriers\, and redefining what is possible in her keynote speech titled “Pioneer.” \n\n\n\nOne of the key takeaways from Gaby’s speech is the importance of identifying and cultivating an individual’s potential for greatness. She encourages attendees to embrace a sense of purpose to become an agent of positive change and to understand the difference between the Emulator mindset and the Pioneer spirit. By converting enthusiasm into fuel and learning to blunt adversity\, Gaby Natale’s keynote offers a roadmap for anyone looking to make a difference in their lives and the world around them. \n\n\n\nIn conclusion\, while we were disappointed to hear that Speech Thomas will not be able to attend the upcoming event\, we are thrilled to announce that Gaby Natale will be joining us instead. Her keynote speech promises to be empowering\, uplifting\, and full of actionable advice for anyone looking to make a meaningful change in their lives.  \n\n\n\nwww.gabynatale.com \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFor EO Detroit Members\, Accelerators and Strategic Alliance Partners one one guest.

SUMMARY:EO Detroit at the Schvitz!
DESCRIPTION:What do you do at the schvitz? You Schvitz! (Yiddish for sweat) \n\n\n\nGather with fellow EO Detroiters for this unique experience at Detroit’s original health club and the only historic bathhouse left in the city.  The idea is to immerse yourself in the heat\, a.k.a. the saunas\, and then jump into the cold plunge pool rinse and repeat. This co-ed experience is great for the cardiovascular system. \n\n\n\nDuring this event\, everyone is invited to take part in a Tarot Card reading and experience “platza” – a potent Russian healing ritual performed by professional practitioners with an oakleaf broom called a Venik. The forest-like smell of the Venik creates a sedative effect and melts stress.  How does that sound as an out-of-the-box social gathering? \n\n\n\nFood and drink will be served. Bring your bathing suits\, pool shoes/flip flops and robes\, and a lock for your locker if you choose.. Towels will be provided. \n\n\n\nWatch Start-Up\, Season 8\, Episode 3
